"BACKGROUND CLUTTER"

Last month I said "Get in and Personal", whilst this is OK for photos where your subject is the only object, but maybe you want to give your subject a little more space. To show the size of your subject or the environment it is in, for example.

If this is the picture you want to take then before pressing the shutter, just take a few seconds to look at the background. Is there a dustbin there? Or another unsightly object? By noticing these things before you press the shutter, gives you the opportunity to change your position or angle so that those objects are no longer in your shot. You even may be able to physically remove the offending object from the shot altogether.

Now press the shutter ...
